Mixed Feelings, Curiosity as Falze Signals Marriage to Ghanaian

FalzFrom his Instagram tease, there are indications that Nigeria’s renowned musician, Falz may be tying the knot soon and his wife would probably be a Ghanaian.

According to Punch Newspapers, the Nigerian rapper and actor, Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, has set social media abuzz after sharing photos that appear to hint at a traditional marriage introduction.

Falz posted the images on his Instagram page on Thursday, accompanied by a cryptic caption: “It’s been a long time coming, and having to do this with you is one of the best decisions of my life.  First of all, introduction…”

The post, which featured the entertainer posing alongside a woman, immediately stirred speculation about whether the rapper had officially tied the knot or was teasing fans.

While many celebrities and fans rushed to congratulate him, others suggested the pictures might be part of a promotional stunt.

Also, the Guardian reported that Falz has stirred speculation about a possible marriage after posting photos that looked like traditional introduction shots.

Falz further fuelled the conversation with a cryptic caption that read, “It’s been a long time coming, and having to do this with you is one of the best decisions of my life.:woman::skin-tone-5::heart::man::skin-tone-5: First of all, introduction…”

His post quickly generated mixed reactions online. While some fans and celebrities rushed to congratulate him, others suggested it could be another creative stunt from the rapper, who is known for blending humour, storytelling and music promotion.

Celebrities, colleagues and fans filled the comment section with messages of excitement. Brand influencer Jennie Frank also joined the list of well-wishers, writing, “I’m screaming, Congratulations.”

However, reactions seem to show that some Nigerian girls are miffed that Falz may be getting married to a Ghanaian, while there are a lot of beautiful girls in Nigeria. But that decision may have reinforced another Nigerian musician, Timaya’s observation recently about the obstacles that face a Nigerian celebrity who wants to marry a Nigerian girl.

Timaya said that Nigerian women are full of stress and he is a man that values his peace of mind and would not want to entangle himself with any woman that would bring chaos in his life.

In December last year, The Nation Newspapers reported that the singer, Timaya shared his reasons for remaining unmarried despite his successful career.

In an interview with Naija FM, Timaya revealed that he never fancied getting married, stating that it’s not something he’s ever been drawn to.

However, he didn’t rule out the possibility of changing his mind in the future.

“I’ve never been a married guy right from time but it can change because marriage ‘dey craze’? I just look at it like if I marry today, would I be able to get out? In all my previous relationships, I was the one who got out because I don’t like stress”, he said.

Timaya explained that his hesitation towards marriage stems from his desire for freedom and his dislike for stress.

The singer emphasised the importance of open communication in relationships, stating that he values honesty and transparency.

He explained: “If you have a problem with me, let’s talk about it because I don’t like going to bed thinking about things, I go die o. I don’t like anything to bother me at all.”

On fatherhood, Timaya shared that his children live with their respective mothers, but they maintain a close bond.

He explained that being a father can be stressful, but it’s also enjoyable.

Timaya revealed that he spends quality time with his children, and they often visit him for extended periods.

Despite not being in a romantic relationship with their mothers, Timaya emphasised that they have a respectful and familial relationship.

“Being a father is stressful because I love them too much but it’s enjoyable. My four kids live with their mothers so when I want to see them, I ask their mothers and they come to my house and we spend two to three months together then they go back to their mothers. Christmas is coming and they’d spend it with me as well, but their mothers don’t come because they’re in relationships. We’re all family now so I can’t date any of them, we’re family now and we respect each other”, he said.

Some Nigerian men are critical of the assumed entitlement of Nigerian women in the way they request for money and doubt whether there could be Nigerian women who could be genuinely in love without monetary factor.
